23. That's a lot of Monet! It went high because there were so Manet bidders. Maybe it was a busy Cezanne for art auctions. After the $110.7 million bid, nobody wanted to Gauguin.
    The buyers did not want to see their van Gogh home empty. Degas running the auction was having fun, though. The loser was Matisse-ore about it.

    Okay, okay, I'll stop! Put the gun down!

33. I always wonder what the people are the phones are talking about with the buyers they represent. "It's at $61m, do you want me to bid $62m or not?" I mean, don't these buyers just tell their rep in advance what their max bid is? As the reps reading the room and strategizing or something?
